Acupuncture & Health Insurance

Thankfully acupuncture is becoming more widely accepted in the U.S. With more people taking advantage of this wonderful medicine for their health needs, some heath insurance plans are starting to cover acupuncture treatments.

If you carry health insurance from one of these four providers I am happy to contact them to see if your acupuncture treatments are covered:

Aetna

Blue Cross Blue Shield

Cigna

United Health Care

Depending on your health issue, coverage may or may not be available. For example, your plan may cover acupuncture for low back pain, but not cosmetic acupuncture.

If you would like me to contact your health insurance company to see if you have coverage, please email me (claretha@jadepathacupuncture.com) with this information:

• Date of birth
• Insurance company name
• Subscriber ID
• Plan number

If you know that your plan does NOT cover acupuncture, be sure to talk with your Human Resources representative to let him/her know that acupuncture benefits are something that you are interested in and would like considered when your current health plan is up for renewal.
